Natto

Aili never ceases to surprise. She's extremely finicky when it comes to eating, and we never know if she's going to eat, or how much. Something she turned her nose up at yesterday is today's favourite, and her decisions appear to be entirely arbitrary. Generally she likes - or might try things that are brown, but nothing green. We just shake our heads.

Strangely, however, she loves natto. Natto, in case you don't know, is a Japanese food that most Westerners can't stomach. In fact, it smells so strong that not only can I not eat it, I can't even be in the same room when Johnny has it, and he has to wash the dishes AND empty the garbage immediately thereafter. It's fermented soybeans that have a consistency similar to partly dried glue:

But as offensive as I find it, Aili LOVES it!

In fact, when Johnny opens a package of it up, he barely gets a bite before it's all gone!
